RMP Rifles specializes in building custom rifles made for hunting big game with precision. While RMP customers chase game all over the world, not just the Rocky Mountains, the name has become synonymous with high-quality rifles and excellent customer service.
RMP Rifles was started four and half years ago by Dustin Crandall with the mission to create a long-range rifle built with the best components and a level of customization. After breaking his leg while chasing mountain lion near his home in Durango, Colorado he had some down-time to realize he wanted to pursue his passion of shooting and hunting for the long run. RMP Rifles was born and continues to grow a solid and dedicated customer base.
How It Works
A customer looking for a custom rifle first chooses the series of rifle depending on how customized or premium they want to get.
As RMP’s flagship hunting rifle, the Select Series features a stainless steel barrel and long-range shooting capabilities up to 1,500 yards. The Select Series is a lower price point but allows for customers to choose components including:
- Caliber
- Barrel Type
- Barrel Length
- Muzzle Brake
- Trigger
- Bottom Metal
- Stock
- Cerakote and Stock Pattern
Other add-on options for this rifle series include adding a scope, the long-range package with various bipod choices, and a hard or soft case for the rifle. Customers can also choose to shoot factory ammo and do their own load development or choose to have RMP break it in and supply 50 rounds of custom-loaded ammo.
Elite Series
The Elite Series was designed to offer customers a “turn-key” option to a custom rifle. The rifle automatically comes with a custom action with an integral rail and recoil lug. The customer can then choose between a standard TriggerTech Special or a Timney Calvin Elite Trigger, both premium trigger options.
The barrel on the Elite Series is a Proof Research carbon barrel making it lightweight, and it will come threaded for the brake.
Additional features and accessories include:
- Directional 4-Port Muzzle Brake
- Thread Protector (either knurled or smooth)
- Cerakote on all metal surfaces
- Choice of Stock (all bedded with premium Marine-grade epoxy)
- McMillan A3 Sporter
- Manners EH1
- Manners EH5 (thumbhole)
- Other stocks available upon request
- Picatinny rail and sling swivel studs on stock fore-end
- Hard case with removable soft case
Similar to the Select Series, a customer can decide whether they want the barrel broken in and custom ammo loaded or not.
The Kodiak Series was designed to chase big game from Rocky Mountain elk to Alaskan Kodiak bears to African safari game. Customers can choose from a heavier steel barrel or light-weight carbon fiber barrel as well as the type of caliber:
- 338 RUM
- 338 WM
- 375 H&H
- 375 RUM
Much like the Select Series, customers can customize the rifle by choosing the different components:
- Caliber
- Barrel Type
- Barrel Length
- Muzzle Brake
- Trigger
- Bottom Metal
- Stock
- Cerakote and Stock Pattern
The customer can then decide the type of scope which will be mounted and zeroed. Additional choices include stock and cerakote patterns, whether it’s broken in and loaded or not, and if they want to add-on the long range package.
